DRAFT REVIEW: Abita Amber
RATING
86

Refreshing and bubbly, this beer is a true delight from the start. Aromas of toast and malted barley greet your nose as soon as you open the bottle. The hop scent is absent in the aroma, but the barley is so rich you won't miss it. The flavor is malty as well, but it is not as strong in the front of this brew, resulting in a taste that comes off a bit weak. Some malt flavors peek through in the middle of your swallow, but they don't add enough taste to fit the style. Similarly, the body is slightly too thin -- also a sign of a malt bill lacking heartiness. Although this beer could be improved, there is no reason not to drink a lot of it when you come across it in the South.
