DRAFT REVIEW: Dottie Seattle Lager
RATING
84

Dottie’s aroma showcases the style’s malt simplicity, drifting up to the nose with lightly singed bready scents; a touch of caramel sweetens the toast. The sip is where things get complicated: Toasted bread spreads out on the tongue, as sweet caramel hints contrast earthy, woody hops. A rush of bitterness tails the flavors and quickly reaches a rough crescendo, overwhelming the creamy mouthfeel. No doubt a refreshing lager, Dottie could still benefit from a streamlined profile and more pronounced bready malt presence.
