DRAFT REVIEW: Nogne O Porter
RATING
94

Another porter from way up north where it gets plenty cold, Nogne O will warm your spirits the moment you drink it. This brew pours with brilliant clarity and a very attractive mahogany coloring. In the aroma, you will find multifaceted malt notes of darker fruits and rich, heavy chocolate. Hops are noticeably absent, but this does little to distract from the wonderful smells. Nice medium carbonation greets your tongue upon your first drink, and the chocolate malt flavors play well with the yeasty bread notes. Hops finish off the beer dryly, but without too much bitterness. If the front of the swallow had slightly more body and didn't seem moderately thin, this beer would fit the style even better. It doesn't finish weak, however, and it has a smooth quality throughout.
