RATING
88
When we poured this brew, we were greeted with a white, frothy, thick head. It dissipated quickly, but left a signiture lace around the glass. The color is slightly lighter than your typical alt, but the taste is still dominated by the malt -- in fact, the malt may be slightly too one-sided. The hops were not noticeable enough in the flavor even though they were very satisfying in the aroma. (Typical noble hop flavors were on par for the style, though.) While any brew can be improved upon, this beer stands alone as a distinct altbier and shouldn't be changed just to fit teh style category. Besides, it has all the great aspects of an alt: It's crisp, fruity, and malty -- it just happens to be different for the style.
