DRAFT REVIEW: Xingu
RATING
87

"Black silk:" That's how Kaiser describes its beer. Of course, we went into this tasting blind, so we weren't sure how smooth this beer would be. The mild aroma with roasted coffee tones overlays the German malts and mild hops agreeably. Sadly, the head barely lasts and doesn't complement the dark color. The taste is very roasted without being burnt, yet has just slightly too much residual sweetness. Xingu isn't quite as smooth as it claims, as the taste is just a bit too sharp from the roasted grains. Overall, though, it is a tasty, clean black lager.
