DRAFT REVIEW: Krušovice Cerne
RATING
82

This cola-color beer’s edges shimmer a tawny hue in the light while its thin tan head quickly fades. A caramel-and-chocolate aroma bristles the senses with roasted malt scents; a faint hop earthiness is buried deep within the bouquet. Roasted flavors arrive first and run down the tongue’s sides, as fruity pear esters emerge mid-sip; Cerne is lighter on the tongue than the style suggests. A hint of chocolate greets ashy roast in the back but is quickly overpowered by the beer’s roasty, dry finish.
