DRAFT REVIEW: Alhambra Negra
RATING
86

Spain might be better known for fine wines, but it seems like every year, more and more Spanish breweries are shipping their product overseas. This cerveza has dark rich roasted notes, which make this one of the more aromatic black beers we've tried. The hop aroma is moderate and makes the transition from smelling this beer to tasting it enjoyable. The darkness of this brew is offset with hues of garnet and is very attractive, even if the head is weak. The malt plays a wonderful backup role to the rich coffee notes and the moderate hops in the taste, so while this brew is a bit sharp for a Schwarzbier and the alcohol presence is distracting, it is still a good Spanish beer.
