DRAFT REVIEW: Vanilla Porter
RATING
96

Until Breckenridge unlocked the secrets growing in the jungles of Madagascar and Papua New Guinea in the early 90s, the world wasn't able to enjoy such a unique flavor combination. The dark roasted malts in porters often leave them with chocolate or coffee notes, but this beer turns tradition on its head by adding vanilla beans, which mellow and deepen the drinking experience. The first hint of something different comes in the aroma, where the vanilla warms the senses. The dark roasted malts are still noticeable in the flavor of this porter where the vanilla blends beautifully with the soft sweetness. There might not be a better pairing than the flavor of a porter with the intricacies of a vanilla bean; but if there is one, it would involve putting some vanilla ice cream in a pint of this for a spectacular beer float.
