DRAFT REVIEW: Hefe 'R' Weizen
RATING
81

From sip to swallow, this beer’s a quiet take on the style. Light clove and banana scents permeate a bready aroma, while faint brushes of spicy alcohol pepper the bouquet. Sweet wheat and barley notes headline the taste profile, while subsequent lemon and clove wrestle each other throughout the swallow; a touch of bubblegum comes out mid-sip, emphasizing the sweet malts. Although this beer’s profile isn’t as harmonious as classic examples, it’s still a fine take on the Old World style.
