DRAFT REVIEW: Apis IV Quadrupel
RATING
91

Big malt scents of toasted bread crust, plum and currants sink into the nose. On the tongue, toasted bread and caramel carry sweet plum and raisins for a classic Belgian profile; that fruit sweetness coaxes out subtle sugar hidden deep beneath the malts. Despite its big malt body, Apis finishes surprisingly tidy as a dose of warming alcohol and roasted malt bitterness converge, leaving behind an enduring raisin bread note after the swallow.
