DRAFT REVIEW: Daymark
RATING
87

This pale ale entertains the senses with a phenomenal combination of hops and malted rye. A seductive aroma of candied tangerine, pine needles and peppery spice tempts the nose while similar notes run over the tongue. Light and bright, Daymark’s tangerine and pine flavors ebb effortlessly through toasted malts as rye adds a kick up front. Mid-sip, the beer switches gears: Aggressive bitterness emerges and, enhanced by rye sharpness, overtakes the more delicate flavors with IPA-like heft. Although the finish is out of balance, the rest of the swallow is highly enjoyable.
