DRAFT REVIEW: Red's Rye PA
RATING
85

This rye-spiked IPA fills the nose with a rich toasted bread aroma accented by sweet caramel and floral hop scents. The malts command the sip: Caramel and toast layer the tongue while rich, piney hops add heft; a shot of sharp orange and a smattering of rye spice give it some bite. Despite the high IBUs, it takes a few sips for bitterness to catch up to the thick malt presence, eventually culminating in a prickly dryness that leaves touches of caramel and bread crust on the tongue long after the swallow.
