DRAFT REVIEW: Porter
RATING
86

Filling the glass a near-black hue with a creamy tan head, this porter’s smell is as bold as its visage: Sweet chocolate scents temper the smoky, roasted malt aroma that tingles the nose. Caramel and baked bread notes cover the tongue as the beer flows back. Chocolate and vanilla cream flavors emerge mid-sip, but are quickly cut by bitter and flavorful coffee. Despite its rich flavors and 7.0% ABV, this beer’s thin mouthfeel makes it surprisingly easy to tip back, but with long-lasting roasted malts and chocolate, there’s plenty to savor after each sip.
