Belgian Blond Ale

Somewhat new to the world of beer styles, these Belgians have strengths similar to dubbels and character akin to a Belgian golden strong ale, though sweeter and less bitter. Pilsner malt and a bit of sugar lend a sweet malt character to the aroma and flavor, though hops appear as earthy or spicy in the nose and bitter in the taste. Moderately strong with ABVs spanning 6 to 7.5 percent, Belgian blonds should have high carbonation, almost creamy mouthfeels and dry finishes.
Pair: Dreamy with custard and practical with a grilled-cheese sandwich, these ales’ carbonation cuts through fat and maintains its flavor with gooey dishes.
