DRAFT REVIEW: Piper's Scotch Ale
RATING
95

This deep-copper brew shines beneath its thin tan head. Toffee scents mix with a toasty, slightly smoky aroma that intensifies as the brew warms. Like the aroma, toffee and toast flood the tongue first, balancing each other front to back. While only a light earthy hop flavor appears mid-sip, the herb’s clean bitterness checks the flavors, leaving room for a smoky swell that peaks just before the swallow. With a lasting smoky, toffee blend on the tongue and warmth in the chest, this nicely balanced Scotch ale is simply a palate pleaser.
