DRAFT REVIEW: Saison Rue
RATING
98

This provocative brew instantly catches the eye with a lively, lacy head and ochroid hue. Fetching honey-sweet barley scents, heaps of fresh pear notes, and gentle clove wisps titillate the nose. Complexity abounds in the flavor profile; sharp rye, sugary barley and a collection of herbs and spices, like coriander and black pepper, build on each other and bring this beer to life. Effervescent carbonation and gentle alcohol round out the full swallow, while the Brett yeast lends a twang to the dry finish and will enable the beer to grow even more complex with time. This is a seriously flavorful beer; a flawless interpretation of an imaginative Belgian tradition.
