DRAFT REVIEW: Boont ESB
RATING
86

This dark copper brew wears a lacy white head, with a sweet malt and fruity ester aroma so soft and rich, it almost feels creamy in the nose. Earthy hops and a strong malt backbone engage the palate hand in hand, but the latter eventually breaks to an onslaught of heavily dry, bitter hops -- the kind that sucks moisture right out of your mouth. The hop presence builds with each sip, and although bitterness is expected in the style, the initial malt promise is stunted by the beer’s sharpness. Overall, this beer’s finish is enjoyable -- especially for anyone who likes heavy bitterness.
