DRAFT REVIEW: Porter
RATING
95

Anchor’s Porter is ink-black with only a sliver of garnet, capped by a frothy, mocha-color head. Its aroma is filled with plums and raisins, accented by soft, roasted coffee scents. The brew warms the tongue with rich and fruity flavors, including coffee, chocolate, and cherries. There is also a subtle, citrusy hop flavor that materializes late, just before the grainy, dry finish takes hold. Anchor’s flavor lasts incredibly long, as cherry and roasted qualities are evident well into the aftertaste, both complementing the beer’s medium body and warm alcohol presence.
