DRAFT REVIEW: Full Moon Winter Ale
Full Moon Winter Ale
Blue Moon Brewery
Norwich, Norfolk

ABV: 5.6%
IBU: Unknown
RATING
84
The makers of the renowned Blue Moon white ale have put together a special bottling for winter drinking, a Belgian-inspired brew highlighted with Belgian sugar. Full Moon pours deep gold in color with a frothy tan crown with great retention. Typical of the Belgian brewing tradition, the beer has a mild spicy aroma, like cracked pepper, complementing the beer's subtle alcohol notes. The taste is a bit mild when compared to other Belgian beers, with caramelized malt sweetness up front and hints of pear and spice. Full Moon would benefit with more body and a deeper complexity, but if you're new to the Belgian brewing tradition, this is a good introduction. The lower ABV means you can enjoy more than one of these with dinner or a ploughman's platter.
