Founders wasn't afraid to turn up the hops on this brew. It pours standard gold with a foamy head. Bold grassy and citrus hop notes crawl out of the glass with only a faint pale ale malt sweetness humming through the scent. Hoppy flavors sing throughout the swallow and spring grass and floral notes burst on the tongue, while an assertive grapefruit peel taste adds a bitter bit; only a mildly toasty, gently caramelized sweetness can be detected. While the hops are a little over-the-top for the style, this medium-bodied-brew is very clean, easy-to-drink brew punctuated by a dry, crisp finish.
