DRAFT REVIEW: Tsunami Stout
RATING
96

Armed with a legion of medals, Tsunami Stout is a world-class example of what a foreign extra stout should be. It begins in familiar fashion, pouring black with a tan, frothy head. Tsunami's bouquet shows off a fascinating balance of sweet and dry, with a touch of caramel that livens up roasted coffee notes. Its flavor profile is elaborate and compelling, starting with sweet toffee notes before melting into bittersweet coffee and chocolate tastes. Hops are subtle; their floral and peppery flavors barely make an appearance with gentle bitterness. The beer finishes dry and clean with only a mild chocolate aftertaste that lingers in the mouth, easily making this selection one of the best high-gravity stouts in America today.
