Superior Stout

RATING
88

Beneath a thin, creamy tan head, red hues brighten the edges of this very dark American stout. Dark roast comprises the bulk of the aroma, but a blend of caramel, coffee and chocolate elevate it to a savory level. Bitter roast envelops the taste buds before caramel emerges mid-sip to sweeten the pot. As you swallow, breathe out, and let a wealth of roasted coffee spiked with chocolate fill the mouth. This beer’s unapologetically roasted, yet the dose of caramel sweetness keeps it from becoming overly astringent. In the end, this full-flavored brew exits the mouth dry with coffee essence lingering through the finish.
