Whole Hog Six-Hop IPA

RATING
89

As its name suggests, Stevens Point brewed this limited release with six different hop varieties. Unlike some monochromatic hop bombs, this clear, russet brew’s earthy aroma actually leans toward malt with warm toffee scents and pretty tangerine accents. The toffee sweetness paves a path for a complex menagerie of deep, earthy hop flavors that arrive in full force on the tongue. With an 8.5% ABV, the beer’s surprisingly small in alcohol flavor; only a slight warming lasts in the throat. Bitterness persists long after the swallow, but the flavor virtually disappears.
