Terrapin Hi-5 IPA

Your Daily Pint for Wednesday, June 25, 2014 is: TERRAPIN HI-5 IPA

What it is: a 5.9%-ABV “California Style” IPA.

What it tastes like: This ultra-juicy IPA sweeps across the tongue with vivid orange, grapefruit and melon notes; hints of dank hop color the background while a bready malt base and swift bitterness pair for a lively, substantial mouthfeel.

About the name: Per the label, “Hi-5: A gesture in which two people simultaneously slap hands together in celebration of receiving a Terrapin Hi-5 California Style IPA.” Totally, brah.

Other hoppy Terrapin beers: Looking for something a little lighter? Check out RecreationAle, a hoppy pale session ale.

Drink with the turtles: Terrapin’s sponsoring July’s Wildwood Revival Music Festival, a farm-to-table fest in Athens, Ga., featuring live music and Terrapin beer (and food, of course!). Be there.
