Beer Runner
Beer tastes better after running

At least that’s my findings after years of arduous research, and now it may be supported by science.

You just have to extrapolate new findings by Johns Hopkins University researchers that food tastes better when you work hard for it.

“If you have to expend more effort to get a certain food,” said associate research scientist Alexander Johnson, “not only will you value that food more, but it might even taste better to you.”

Johnson added that they don’t know why effort boosts the taste of food, but its effect can last at least 24 hours.

The study was done with laboratory mice, who were trained to respond to two levers. One group was rewarded with a treat if they pressed a lever once, while another group had to press a lever 15 times for a snack. Mice clearly preferred “the food that they worked harder for,” Johnson said.

From rodents pushing levers for food, I think the evidence is clear. We can easily surmise that if you work hard and take a run before drinking a beer, you’re going to enjoy the experience more.

Now someone get those mice a beer.
