Samuel Adams Hoppy Red

RATING
92

Though orange juice, pineapple and bubblegum hops certainly govern the aroma, barley also contributes balancing bread crust, toffee and toastiness. The flavor, however, leans hard into the herbs, with leafy oregano and chive seasoning every underlying note of honey, lemon and toasted bread. A swallow of the creamy brew shifts toward a finish of black tea and peppercorns, while moderate bitterness does an admirable job of providing balance.
