DRAFT REVIEW: Blue
RATING
95

Coffee stouts may have the edge on breakfast beers, but the fresh blueberry and bready malt aroma of this bright, straw-hued brew does a spot-on impression of blueberry pancakes. On the front of the tongue, a very clean weizen character perks up the taste buds as high carbonation adds extra zing. While most of the swallow simply showcases a quaffable, light, refreshing wheat beer, the aftertaste lets the blueberries shine. Throughout the medium-dry finish, fresh blueberries evenly mix with delicate, bready malts; the fact that these flavors continue to grow with each sip makes drinking Blue even more rewarding. For a beer style that’s hard to hide behind, the addition of blueberries is not only logical, but also inspired.
